Believe us, we weren’t happy about it either.
For years, we offered discounted Small Package shipping rates because USPS priced lightweight packages based largely on their actual weight. That allowed us to pass along meaningful savings on small orders.
Unfortunately, USPS changed how many lightweight packages are priced. As of July 2026, most USPS Ground Advantage commercial rates for packages under one pound are no longer calculated on an ounce-by-ounce basis. Instead, packages weighing anywhere from 1 ounce up to nearly 16 ounces are often charged nearly the same rate. In other words, a package containing just a single pair of earbuds may now cost almost as much to ship twenty-five weighing several times more.
Because of these USPS changes, our previous Small Package shipping option was no longer financially sustainable. Rather than advertise an unrealistically low shipping rate and absorb significant losses on every shipment, we made the difficult decision to discontinue that option.
We know this is frustrating because it’s frustrating for us too. Our goal has always been to provide affordable products and affordable shipping. While we have no control over USPS pricing, we continue to negotiate the best commercial shipping rates available, carefully package orders to avoid unnecessary costs, and pass those savings along whenever possible.
If USPS introduces more favorable pricing for lightweight packages in the future, we will gladly evaluate bringing back lower-cost shipping options.
